Empowered Parenting
Original Ideas, Tools and Techniques for Empowering Children by Parents
Empowered Parenting – It’s Child’s Play, by Dr. Shmuelik Weiss, is a fascinating, unique book for parents who want to empower their own children, and for school and preschool teachers looking for unique, effective ways of empowering their students. The book suggests hundreds of simple, fun games and activities, sorted by the child’s age and setting (at home, outdoors, in the car, and more), that parents can easily play with their children.
This book aims to develop cognitive and emotional capabilities in children, and to provide them with the strong foundations they need to succeed in school and in life. Along the way, it fosters and enhances beneficial relationships between parents and their children.
All the suggested activities are suitable for the child’s natural environment, at home, in the backyard, on the street, on the way to school, and in the playground. None of the activities require any expensive equipment. They’re all based on items that are readily available.
The main principles
-
Investing 30 minutes every day or two can be enough to develop and cultivate children’s capabilities. It’s the shared quality time with their parents that makes the difference, not the amount of time.
-
Consistent, nurturing activities throughout childhood are what have the most powerful impact on a child’s optimal development.
-
The parent is the most important figure in a child’s life. Parents who know what to do, and how and when to do it will make a bigger difference than any teacher.
These insights will be your guidelines as you set out on a ten-year parenting journey, with excellent outcomes for everyone involved.

Dr. Weiss has been writing this book along 10 years, while practicing , almost daily, all the activities and exercises and interactions and games (that are described in the book) with his daughter, from the age of two until she was 12 year old. He has insisted on documenting every session. Then he added to it insights from his vast experience with is three older children, and the outcome is this book.
